ORDINANCE 2005-01
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2.44.09 (MONEY FROM CRIMINAL AND TRAFFIC CASES) OF CHAPTER 2.44 (CITY COURT) OF THE MAYFLOWER MUNICIPAL CODE; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, in order to finance the purchase and maintenance of a ACIC/NCIC system for the City of Mayflower, Arkansas, the City Council wishes to update Section 2.44.09 (Money from Criminal and Traffic Cases) of Chapter 2.44 (City Court) of the Mayflower Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the City of Mayflower, Arkansas that Section 2.44.09 of Chapter 2.44 of the Mayflower Municipal Code be updated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MAYFLOWER, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: That Section 2.44.09 (Money from Criminal and Traffic Cases) of Chapter 2.44 (City Court) to Title 2 (Classification, Administration, and Personnel) of the Mayflower Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as indicated below:
2.44.09 Money from Criminal and Traffic Cases. Ten dollars ($10.00) of the monies collected from each criminal and traffic case shall be appropriated to a fund, which shall be used to replace and maintain the Mayflower Police Department’s vehicle and equipment.
Ten dollars ($10.00) of the monies collected from each criminal and traffic case shall be appropriated to a fund, which shall be used to establish and maintain the Mayflower Police Department’s Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC)/National Crime Information Center (NCIC) program.
SECTION 2: Emergency Clause. The City Council has found and determined that this ordinance is necessary in order to provide for the purchase and maintenance of an ACIC/NCIC system for the Mayflower Police Department. Therefore an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its approval and passage.
